Judith D. Grimes Correnti, a resident of Independence, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Passage Hospice in New Orleans. She was born March 1, 1949 in Bogalusa and was 67 years of age. Judi will be greatly missed. She leaves behind her husband, Andrew Correnti; daughter, Angela Correnti Wright (Ricky); son, Mike Correnti (Ramona); 2 step-daughters, Regina Altobello (Chris) and Mary Ann Norvell (Rod); grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Chris, Andy, Izzy, Robert, Heather, Allie, Michelle, John, Dominic, Kaitlyn and Kason; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Fannie Grimes; and her brothers and sisters, Coyt Grimes, Edith Grimes Petitto, Lucille Grimes Ogima, Layton Grimes, Archie Grimes, Wilton Grimes and Nelson Grimes. Visitation was held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Religious Services were held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Services conducted by Fr. Howard Adkins. Interment Colonial Cemetery, Independence.
