Joseph “Elvis” Day went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday September 5, 2016. He was born on September 3, 1929 in Spring Creek, Louisiana. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. He was survived by a daughter, Dorothy Eileen Sagely and husband, Perry; three sons, Joseph Byron Day and wife, Lora, Grover Lane Day, and wife, Judy, and Wendell Scott Day and wife, Loretta; five granddaughters, Kayla Sagely Petitto and husband, Michael, Stacy Day Cornette and husband, Cody, Amy Day, Sonya Day, and Rhonda Day; a grandson, Robert Day and wife, Summer; ten great grandchildren; sister, Lauree Phillips; 2 brothers, Lynn Day and Grant Day. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bates Day; a grandson, Wendell Scott Day, Jr. and his parents, Ivy and Maggie Cutrer Day. Visitation at Red Bluff Baptist Church, Greensburg, from 6 PM until 9 PM on Thursday and from 9 AM until religious services at 11 AM on Friday, September 9, 2016. Services conducted by Bro. Joe Day and Bro. Leroy McElveen. Interment Red Bluff Cemetery, Greensburg. Active pallbearers are Timothy Bates, Joey Harrell, Travis Day, Cody Cornette, Michael Petitto, Jr., Keith Day, Chris Holland, and Sheriff Nat Williams.
