Shirley Ann Hart was born in Portland, Oregon to James McCue and Dorothy Endicott McCue and attended grade school in San Francisco. She was married to James J. Hart, Jr. of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana from 1942 until she became a widow in 1994. She is survived by her children, James J. Hart III (Jean) of Benicia, Virginia Hart (Henry) Cox of Benicia, Donald R. Hart ( Jane) of Carson City, Nevada, Grandchildren: Mike Hart of Benicia, Jeremy Hart (Sheila) of American Canyon, Jason Hart of Lake Tahoe, Shari Wiemer, Malaysia, Chad Cheadle, Nashville, Tennessee and Devon Parkhurst, Worcester, Massachusetts and six great-grandchildren. During adolescence, Shirley was responsible to care for her
younger Sister and brother, Carol and Lester (Skip) McRae which prepared her to be an excellent mother and house keeper. As her husband advanced to become a Navy Officer following his service in WW II Shirley enjoyed living with her family in Hawali, Kwajalein, Marshall Islands, and various US Naval Bases. Her pleasant nature and generosity will be missed by all who knew her. Her family appreciates the kindness of her living assistants at Brookdale (Merrill Gardens, Emeritus) where she resided for many years, and her care given at Benicia Loving Care Home where she most recently resided. Graveside services will be private.
