Frank Edward Church, Sr., a resident of Kentwood, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 18, 1937 in Gillsburg, MS and was 79 years of age. He was a retired Correctional Officer from Dixon Correctional Institute and a retired Sheriff’s Deputy from Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is survived by 7 children, June Blades, Margaret Avants and husband, Ben, Vicky Varnado and husband, Frank, Judy Macko and husband, Don, Tina Strickland and husband, Ronnie, Frank Church, Jr. and wife, Irene, and Renee Wilkinson and husband, Donald; grandchildren, Jessica, Erica, Cody, Donald, Barry, Stacy, Savannah, Phillip, II, Britany, Jessie Paul, Jennifer, Allison, Tyler, Brandie, Shane, Rebecca, Donald, Jr., and Tyler; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Irene Mae McKlemurry and Lillie Mae Guillory; and a brother, Bobby Ray Church. Preceded in death by parents, George W. Church, Sr. and Irene Wall Church; 2 brothers, George W. Church, Jr. and Franklin Wendell Church, Sr.; 2 sons-in-law, Phillip Woodard, Sr. and Jerry Blades. The family would like to specially thank the Deacons of New Zion Baptist Church and Community Care Hospice for their care and support. Visitation will be held at Red Bluff Baptist Church, Greensburg, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Friday, November4, 2016.
