Betty Jo Hughes, a resident of Roseland, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born January 19, 1931 in Crystal Springs, MS and was 86 years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hughes Rohner; grandson, James “Scooter” Rohner and wife, Beth; and great grandsons, Jayden and Jaxson Rohner. Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Thelma Harper; husband, Earl L. Hughes; son, Richard Earl Hughes; sister, Louise Boyd; brothers, Gates, Earl, Bill and Walter Harper, and son-in-law, Charles W. Rohner. Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Interment Arcola Roseland Cemetery, Arcola.
