Retired Judge Ernest Drake, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, June 7. Drake, a long-time resident of Ponchatoula, was 69. He was elected to serve as a judge in the 21st Judicial District in 1998. He held the position until 2013 when he was elected to the Louisiana 1st Circuit Court of Appeal. Drake was a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University and Tulane Law School.
