Ruby Cutrer Alford, a resident of Amite, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Tangi Pine Nursing Center in Amite. She was born October 14, 1932 in Arcola and was 84 years of age. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and a current member of Cornerstone Church in Amite. She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Brooke and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Clifford M. Brooke, Robin B. Fitz and husband, Chay, Racheal Schmitt and husband, Michael Schmitt, Jr., Alayne Granat and husband, Rod, Jacquie Summerford and husband, Don, Jennifer Decota and Julie Davis; great grandchildren, John Dakota Brooke, Landon Davis, Kyle Granat, Madelyn Granat, Justin Summerford, Bella Summerford, Michael Schmitt, Zechariah Schmitt, Heaven Schmitt, Triston Schmitt, Remi Schmitt, Emily Decota and Trent Decota, and her brother in law, Dallas Alford. Preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Alford; grandson, John Lewis Brooke; parents, Clifford and Emma Cutrer; four brothers, Dewitt, Deloyd, Clifford, and Marshall Cutrer and 3 sisters, Malva Cutrer, Norma Joiner and Cecila Corbin. Visitation was held at Cornerstone Church, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017. Services conducted by Rev. Mervin Strother.
